PDC President, Barry Hearn still sits on the PDC board on an advisory capacity after retiring and handing the reins to his son, Eddie alongside current Chief Executive, Matthew Porter but he discussed the expansion of darts and what could happen in the future.
This could include an expanded European Tour, as well as prize money getting bigger and also approaching new territorities in an attempt for global domination.
"At the moment, the travel restrictions are prohibitive but that's not going to last forever. We're in a good place with the new chairman and Matt Porter and his team, they're itching to smash everything up and drive up the prize money and drive up the number of events. It's exciting," he said to Online Darts.
"We've got to be brave, we've got to invest. My recommendations in my advisory capacity is exactly that, where we see interest don't be frightened to back it."
"You're looking at Canada, you're looking at USA, you're looking at Far East. Europe is going quite well, I think the European Tour is going to get bigger and I think the players are going to get bigger prize money, no more than they deserve."
