Earlier on Friday, it was announced that the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes would host the PDC Summer Series; which will see five days in a row of Players Championship action.
A venue that has worked well in recent times for Matchroom's Championship League Snooker; it could yet be utilised for the World Matchplay.
With Matt Porter, Chief Executive of the PDC hinting at this in a recent interview detailing why it would be 'perfect'.
“The Marshall Arena is the perfect location to create a bubble venue. Hotel on site; arena on-site excellent transport links and centrally located," said Porter in conversation with Phill Barrs for Online Darts.
“We get on very well with the management team; they are fully on board with what we are trying to achieve.
“It’s a venue we know works for darts in normal circumstances; we believe it’s a venue that could work for darts in abnormal circumstances.”
