The Premier League Darts competition is already
up and running, and two nights have been ticked off the schedule so far. Night
1 saw Michael van Gerwen and Chris Dobey meet in the final at Belfast’s SSE
Arena, with the latter winning 6-5. Premier League Darts then rolled into
Cardiff, where Welshman Gerwyn Price saw off Nathan Aspinall 6-3 in the final.
And, if these two nights are anything to go by, it should be another cracker
this week.
When And Where Is Night 3?
So far, Premier League Darts has visited
Belfast and Cardiff, and now it’s the turn of
Glasgow’s
OVO Hydro on
Thursday, the 16th of February. The action gets underway at 7 pm,
with seven matches taking place in total – quarter-finals, semi-finals and the
all-important final.
How Can I Watch Live?
Premier League Darts is a show that is
broadcast live on the night on Sky Sports Arena and Sky Sports Main Event. So,
if you have a subscription to Sky Sports, you can watch on the TV or via their
dedicated app, which works on smartphones and tablets. It's also possible to
watch via other means, such as NowTV.
What Are The Quarter-Final Fixtures?
The fixtures for the quarter-finals are as
follows:
·
Nathan Aspinall v Michael van Gerwen
·
Peter Wright v Dimitri Van den Bergh
·
Gerwyn Price v Michael Smith
·
Jonny Clayton v Chris Dobey
The fixtures will be played out in order when
the action gets underway. The winner of Aspinall v van Gerwen will play the
victor of Wright v Van den Bergh to form the first semi-final. The winners of
Price v Smith and Clayton v Dobey will face off in the second semi-final. The
two semi-final winners will then meet to determine who is victorious overall on
Night 3 of Premier League Darts 2023.
Who Are The Runners And Riders?
Premier League Darts is one of the most popular
betting markets with long standing
sports betting operators, who offer odds on single matches,
outrights and much more. At the time of writing, while it’s still early days,
van Gerwen looks to be the man to beat. He’s not won a night yet, but he’s
expected to be the overall winner if the odds are anything to go by.
Therefore, against Aspinall in the first
fixture of Night 3, you would expect
van Gerwen to come out on top. And many would
also predict Wright and Clayton to do well in Glasgow too. Arguably, where the
quarter-finals are concerned, the game between Price and Smith is certainly one
to keep an eye on.
The duo come into the fixture, both wanting to
win, but with different motivations. Price was victorious last week in Cardiff
and will naturally want to build on that. On the other hand, Smith has enjoyed
a fantastic run of late in darts and is the world champion. He's yet to make
his mark in Premier League Darts 2023, and what better way than to defeat Price
and progress to the semi-finals?
