Gerwyn Price had a whirlwind rollercoaster in making his debut at the 2015 PDC World Darts Championship to winning as the favourite in 2021.
Price looked back alongside fellow World Champions, Michael van Gerwen, Rob Cross and Peter Wright ahead of Ally Pally starting next week at then compared to his biggest moment.
"It felt a lot different then than what it does now. I'm obviously more comfortable with the main stage, that being the first time in the biggest event of the year, it was a good time but a bit too much pressure and I wasn't used to it at the time," said Price on his World Championship debut.
"By the fourth time, I was more prepared I'd say, I was a better player, I'd had a bit more experience. I was in a better place mentally."
He looked back at winning in 2021 when he defeated Gary Anderson with always the belief that he was going to win.
"No disrespect to any of my opponents but I just concentrate on my own game and I was in my own mind that if I played well I was going to win."
"It was a hell of a feeling when you've bombed numerous opportunities. I had such a big lead, especially against Gary. I knew he wasn't playing brilliant but he started to come back in and I started to go off the boil and when you start throwing rubbish darts, you get a bit of confidence and come back."
