Rowby-John Rodriguez and
Gerwyn Price have withdrawn from the
Hungarian Darts Trophy in Budapest before playing their opening ties.
Rodriguez was due to face
Raymond van Barneveld this evening but his daughter had an operation on Thursday and following complications has decided to stay with her at hospital instead of travelling. Now the doyen of Dutch Darts receives a bye to face Jose de Sousa tomorrow.
"We had hoped that my daughter's operation on Thursday would be straightforward and that I would be able to compete in Budapest," said Rodriguez.
"Most people will know that she has had heart problems in the past and previously needed operations, and this operation has also been a success but was followed by some minor complications.
"Happily, she is okay now and on the road to recovery."
He added: "It's disappointing that I can't compete in Hungary as I was excited about getting back into action, but my family comes first.
"I wish Raymond and all the other players in Budapest good luck, and I look forward to my return to playing at the Gibraltar Darts Trophy next month."
Price is also out after returning home from the World Series, he has withdrawn late from the tournament with no reason yet known meaning Madars Razma who had already won through to play him will receive a bye through to Sunday's third round.
