Schedule & Preview for Night Eight of 2021 Premier League Darts featuring Anderson versus leader Van den Bergh

Dimitri van den Bergh will defend his Premier League Darts top spot against Gary Anderson on Night Eight.

There's a chance that Van Den Bergh will already be off top spot by the time he plays, as Nathan Aspinall could leapfrog him with a win over Rob Cross. The points are much, much more precious for Voltage, who sits in the last open elimination spot following a third successive defeat. Given his fall from the Order of Merit top four, Cross isn't just fighting to keep his spot in the 2021 Premier League Darts; this could be it for a while, unless he wins more major titles.

Dimitri van den Bergh doesn't have to worry about Judgement Night; he doesn't have to worry about anything at all. The Belgian looks more confident and comfortable than he ever has, and it's earning him wins like the one against Rob Cross where he previously may have wobbled. Gary Anderson, by contrast, isn't happy with his darts - but he'll be a bit happier if he can draw level with Van Den Bergh by beating the youngster.

The Jose train is rolling now. Jose de Sousa has won three on the spin. Weirdly - brilliantly - he's the only person who's done that in the Premier League Darts this season. If he can dismantle the Green Machine and make it four, would he be a playoff favourite? Michael van Gerwen has been frustratingly inconsistent so far. The MVG who beat Rob Cross wins this game. The one who played against Wade or Durrant loses. Which Van Gerwen will show up here?

In one fell swoop on Tuesday night, James Wade boosted his own survival chances by putting Peter Wright below him. But the job is a long way from done, and the Machine must get something against Jonny Clayton. The Ferret earned a decent point against Nathan Aspinall, and will want to add another two points tonight.

Glen Durrant's Premier League Darts journey in 2021 is officially ending on Judgement Night. What remains of his season might feel like a lifetime - and it is, when you compare it to the lifetime of the European Super League. Let's be positive; it's two more chances to grab a win. Doing so against Peter Wright might condemn Snakebite to bow out alongside him. For Wright, who meets Jose de Sousa tomorrow, this is a game he has to win, and win well.
