Michael Smith produced another exceptional display on the third night of Premier League action but got his reward for it in the form of two points against Jonny Clayton.

Smith who last week averaged over 110 for most of his match against Gerwyn Price and still ended up with a draw averaged 105.51 this time around and claimed a 7-1 win against the highest ranked Challenger.

'Bully Boy' was really pleased afterwards to claim his first win and he admitted he tried to keep focused when he was in the lead so that he didn't let it slip like in Nottingham.

"I'm over the moon to get my first win of the season, I can't believe it's been ten games since I last won in the Premier League," said Smith.

"Jonny gave me a couple of legs at the start and the 167 really did change things.

"Once I got a lead I was telling myself not to make the same mistake as last week; I was really angry with myself that I threw that one away."
