Ricky Evans reached the third round of the recent PDC World Darts Championship losing out to Michael van Gerwen 4-0.
But this didn’t tell the whole story as Evans hit over a 100 average and was praised by many including his fellow Kettering ace, Kyren Wilson.
Wilson is taking part in the Masters this weekend and the World No.5 has long flown the flag alongside Evans for the small town in Northamptonshire.
He called his performances at the World Championship as ‘awesome’ and that if he keeps up that standard, he could be hard to beat this year.
“He is easily a better dancer than me,” said Wilson to the Northants Telegraph.
“It’s the way he moves his hips, he really gets them moving!
“I watched Ricky and he was awesome against Mickey Mansell and he was awesome again against Michael van Gerwen.
“To lose 4-0 the way he did when averaging over 100, van Gerwen had to be on top form.
“If Ricky plays a large percentage of anyone else on the Tour, he would have won that match with those averages.
“He has to hold his head up and if he keeps up that sort of standard then he will do well this year.”
