Switzerland is not immediately known as a great darts country. This may change soon.
Between 2012 and 2021 only four times a Swiss player managed to qualify for a tournament on the
European Tour.
This year, three European Tour tournaments have been completed and the qualifiers of eight others are already known. Striking is that in those eleven tournaments a Swiss player was or will be present four times. Exactly the same number as in the ten previous years.
Bellmont
Stefan Bellmont has qualified for three tournaments, Belli will be present at the European Darts Grand Prix (20-22 May in Stuttgart) and he also managed to qualify for the Dutch Darts Championship at the end of May. Earlier this year he was also present at the German Darts Championship, where he lost in the opening round 6-1 to Dave Chisnall.
There was also a Swiss player in Thomas Junghans at the German Darts Grand Prix. He too went out in the opening round after a 6-2 defeat to Danny Baggish but was seemingly representing Germany which he has done sporadically.
