What is striking about the list is that the winner often has a particularly high tournament average. For example, in four of the nine editions the winner had a tournament average of over 105.
The highest tournament average is in the name of
Michael van Gerwen. The Dutchman won the 2017 tournament with a tournament average of 106.07.
Gary Anderson was that year's losing finalist, but also played an excellent tournament with a tournament average of 105.49.
Van Gerwen also had a tournament average above 105 in 2018 (105.41) and 2016 (105.08).
Phil Taylor did the same in 2013 with 105.38.
