Van Barneveld eases past Cross, Noppert, Anderson and Cullen out at Players Championship 20

The first round of action at Players Championship 20 has begun with Raymond van Barneveld, Luke Humphries, Michael Smith, Peter Wright among others all through to the second round.
Van Barneveld eased past Rob Cross who averaged 100 but fell 6-2, while Humphries edged past Scott Waites. In addition, Smith who has been imperious at times on the ProTour this season edged past Jeff Smith.
For Peter Wright, it was a lot more simpler as he smashed in a 108.65 average to ease past Adam Gawlas 6-0. But for yesterday's winner, Danny Noppert, he is out.
Losing to Kevin Doets 6-1 in his opener, he has been joined by Gary Anderson (6-3 to Damon Heta) and Joe Cullen (6-5 to Ryan Joyce) in losing early in Barnsley today.
