UK Open turned out to be a disappointment with 'The Dutch Destroyer' losing out 10-2 in the fifth round against Callan Rydz.
Van der Voort didn't have to think long about where things went wrong.
"I was not ready for this match at all. There was another match ahead of me, but it was over much faster than I had thought. Suddenly I heard broadcasters that I had to play within a few minutes, I had not taken it into account enough that something like this could happen. Actually, something like this just shouldn't happen to me with all my experience," Van der Voort told Viaplay.
Long agony
"When you are so poorly prepared it is important to start the game well. Well, that didn't happen at all, from the start I was constantly behind the facts and then such a game becomes a long agony," concludes the 46 year old Dutchman.
