Premium Dart Data had trawled through the archive and put together a top 10 list of the highest earners in the history of the PDC, counting only ranking majors, with Michael van Gerwen far and away top of the pile.
With a grand total of £5,173,000 earnings, van Gerwen leads the way by nearly a million pound ahead of his nearest challenger, Phil 'the Power' Taylor who earned £4,434,000 before his retirement in 2018.
The nearest active challenger to Van Gerwen's spot at the top of the list is Peter Wright. But with the Scotsman having only just over half of MVG's earnings, it really shows how impressive 'Mighty Mike' has been and for how long he has been in the upper echelons of the sport.
Arguably the most impressive tally on the list is Jame Wade who sits in fifth overall with earnings of £2,149,250 despite the fact he has never even reached a World Darts Championship Final let alone won the title that gives out the biggest prize money in the sport.
