Van der Voort cools hype around Van Duijvenbode: "Talking about a selection for the Premier League next year is still a bit too early"

Rumored to be in and amongst the potential players considered by the PDC for selection for this year's Premier League Darts, Dirk van Duijvenbode eventually missed out although Vincent Van der Voort thinks it will only be a matter of time.

Van Duijvenbode has already shown impressive form this year by winning three Players Championships. "Dirk is definitely fit for the Premier League," says Dutch darts commentator Jacques Nieuwlaat to Viaplay. "He throws fast and is a real entertainer. Only he will have to perform more on TV tournaments to be invited to the Premier League. But he is close at the moment."

Van der Voort though urges patience when it comes to rumours of Premier League selection. "Already talking about a selection for the Premier League next year is still a bit too early," says the experienced Van der Voort. "We also saw that last year with Danny Noppert, who won the UK Open in March, but ultimately also missed out on a selection. Ultimately, it has to happen in December, then you really have to be there at the World Cup."
