Van Gerwen gains revenge on Humphries to reach European Darts Open final, set to face Van den Bergh after Wade withdrawal

Michael van Gerwen is on the verge of winning the European Darts Open for a fifth time and claiming his third European Tour title of the season as well as back-to-back.

This after he gained revenge on Luke Humphries who produced one of his biggest defeats in a long time in Munich last month in a whitewash.

While not as emphatic, Van Gerwen sealed it 7-2 with a 105.2 average with four 180's and 50% on his doubles.

His opponent has already been confirmed with James Wade withdrawing from illness despite only playing a short time ago in beating Ryan Searle.

As a result, Dimitri van den Bergh will get a shot at claiming his maiden European Tour title but will have to get past a Van Gerwen in emphatic form shortly.
