Michael van Gerwen returns to action at the European Championship after reaching back-to-back European Tour finals.
But doubts are still there with the World Number One only hitting one average over 100 in either tournament.
Despite that, he is confident he will regain his title in a tournament he has won four times albeit with his last success coming in 2017.
"I love this tournament because it is the climax of the European Tour," said Van Gerwen.
"Normally we play a lot more than four European Tours and I have been successful on them so I feel this is a tournament I have a good chance of success in.
"This year things have been a bit different only playing four European Tours but I'm still high in the seedings.
"I feel good, I'm feeling confident that I will perform and I can get back to winning trophies again."
