Michael van Gerwen will return to action this weekend at The Masters after the disappointment which came with the end of his PDC World Darts Championship when he tested positive for COVID-19.
Van Gerwen has been a perennial winner in the season opener despite often spending little time on the board in the run up and that is shown by statistics compiled by statistician, Philipp Wolff with Mighty Mike potentially become the first player to play over 500 legs in the tournament.
This is a long way clear of James Wade and Peter Wright who are on 352 and 322 and Dave Chisnall and Adrian Lewis on 291 and 287. A mark which MVG could reach with a deep run this weekend.
