Van Gerwen produces epic comeback to deny Noppert, Price turns off the heat with Heta win

Two of the top names involved this weekend at the Gibraltar Darts Trophy have made their way into the final session of action but with contrasting routes for Michael van Gerwen and Gerwyn Price who will now face off in a blockbuster Quarter-Final.

Price was first through as 'The Iceman' extinguished 'The Heat' in a 6-3 triumph averaging 102 with 60% on the doubles and a high checkout of 124 to win through.

He will hope the Van Gerwen of the start of his clash with Danny Noppert turns up in the Quarter-Finals.

Surviving an almighty scare, he staged an epic comeback in an absolute thriller against his compatriot coming from 4-1 and 5-3 down and surviving four match darts en route to a 6-5 win.

This included a 102.8 average and high checkouts of 160 and a 132 checkout in particular which cemented his comeback. Superb darts from 'The Green Machine'.
