Van Gerwen takes aim at £100k payout for double nine-darter: “I will be going out there and giving everything”

Michael Van Gerwen has form for nearly hitting two nine-dart finishes at the World Darts Championship famously missing double 12 for a second back in 2012.

But if he can complete it this time, there will be £100k dished out with Selco pledging the amount with £25k going to Global’s Make Some Noise charity and another £25k going to a random fan. The other half will go to the player and it is a feat Van Gerwen hopes to achieve.

"Hitting two nine-dart finishes over the course of the tournament is hard, but it's certainly not impossible. I will be going out there and giving everything to make it happen, not only for myself but for the fan and the charity as well.

"I'm sure the money would make a tremendous difference to them.”
