PDC sponsor puts £100k on the line for one player to hit nine-dart finishes at World Darts Championship

The PDC no longer hands out cash bonuses for nine-dart finishes but thanks to one of their sponsors, Selco, £100k will be put on the line if one player hits two during the next World Darts Championship.

Not only does the player benefit from this with £50,000 going to them but also Global's Make Some Noise Foundation will receive £25k and a further £25k will go to a random fan.

In the history of the World Darts Championship, this has not been achieved so they will be making history as a result.

Michael van Gerwen was very close to this achievement in 2012. The Dutchman threw a nine-darter in his semi-final against James Wade and missed the double 12 in the following leg to throw two perfect legs in a row.
