James Wade is the latest player through to the Quarter-Finals of the 2021/22 PDC
World Darts Championship after surging past Martijn Kleermaker in a 4-0 whitewash sets victory.
Wade, the fourth seed this year has not played since beating Maik Kuivenhoven in his opener after Vincent van der Voort tested positive but wasted no time in setting up a tie with Mervyn King.
Wade breezed through the opening set without reply averaging 94 and producing 60% on the doubles as he showed no signs of rust despite having to wait to play compared to Kleermaker.
He led in the second set with a trademark Wade ton plus checkout in the form of 104 before hitting another to clinch the set in the form of 116 with Kleermaker only claiming one leg up to that point.
Kleermaker did get a leg on the board in the third set but Wade erased that with a 110 checkout to make it 1-1 before pinning double 10 to clinch the third set and go towards the victory.
Wade went 2-0 up with his usual double 10 route before Kleermaker claimed a solitary hold.
Despite missing multiple match darts, Kleermaker couldn't take out 90 and so Wade returned again for double 10 to claim the win.
