Webster and Petersen reflect on Clayton's Premier League triumph: "Shows exactly what you can achieve when you believe in yourself"

Jonny Clayton claimed the Premier League title this past weekend in an unlikely final against Jose de Sousa between two debutants once more.

It was a second major triumph for 'The Ferret' adding to his Masters glory as well as the World Cup and summing it up afterwards, Mark Webster on Sky Sports spoke about how he thought he'd only get one go at the toournament.

"The emotion from Jonny, I've never seen that from him ever. That shows how much it means to him, how hard he's worked, it's an incredible achievement. It means so much," said Petersen.

"He said to me at the beginning of the year that this might be his only crack at it, well Jonny you're the champion, you come back next year.

While Devon Petersen spoke about the platforms that have been reached with every major triumph and how inspiring he is as a player.

"It was just a precursor to what he was going to perform like. The game against Michael van Gerwen, he felt the momentum and also said he's the one to beat and Jonny just turned up and beat him. In that final, he showed he always had one or two darts on Jose all the time. He's been the outstanding performer," said Petersen.

"Jonny shows exactly what you can achieve when you believe in yourself. After winning the World Cup, you could see the trophy meant so much to him. In his career, it just gave him another platform. Winning the Masters now lifting this trophy."
