Young and Campbell close to securing PDC World Championship participation

After the latest weekend of CDC action, the race to the two World Championship spots available is close to being confirmed with Darin Young and Matt Campbell on the verge of qualification.

Young is of course very well known and has a big lead over Joe Huffman in second place with 82 points compared to the latter's 59. It will be a first appearance in 3 years at the Alexandra Palace with him just missing out every year since. He will likely join the North American Champion, Danny Baggish as the representation from the USA at the showpiece event.

Matt Campbell on the other hand strengthened his cause for the Canadian spot this past weekend by winning another CDC event. Campbell is similar to Young quite far away from Jim Long now; with 73 points compared to 48.

Despite not qualifying for the Las Vegas World Series events, he looked one of the best players in the qualifiers; so could be a serious danger at the Alexandra Palace if he does confirm his place.
