Bradley van der Velden and Aurora Fochesato take junior WDF world titles at Lakeside

Bradley van der Velden became Lakeside champion for the boys on Sunday night. In doing so, he follows in the footsteps of compatriots Colin Roelofs (2015), Justin van Tergouw (2017 & 2018) and Bradly Roes (2022).

The 15-year-old Dutchman managed to win 3-0 in sets against Adam Dee from Ireland in the final. Thanks to a 19-darter and a 76 finish the first set was a 3-0 victory for Van der Velden. The second set did go over the full five legs and was taken 3-2 by the Dutchman. Van der Velden then managed to finish it off in the third set.

Aurora Fochesato won the girls' tournament by defeating Krisztina Turai 2-0 in sets in the final. After Fochesato won the first set 3-0, Turai had plenty of chances to take the second set, but the Hungarian failed to hit the necessary double. As a result, the second set also went to the Italian, who can now call herself world champion among the girls.
