Dave Parletti is through to the second round of the 2022 WDF Lakeside World Championship and will face Andy Baetens after seeing off Shaun McDonald in a 2-1 win defying an opening set whitewash.
"I won't even lie I was emotional because I thought Jesus Christ have I actually won this, it was a lot to take in. I'm a postman, that's my job. I'm not a dart player, it's every dart players dream to play at Lakeside and I can't believe it," said 'The Architect' to Tungsten Tales.
"I got spanked 3-0 in the first set and then I came in the back and thought here we go, I'm going to get spanked and then yeah I just kicked in. He was missing and I was hitting and the 106 killed him to win the set. I'm really happy."
He was also not a fan of the draw calling it his worst of a bad bunch over the years.
"It's probably the worst out of all the draws I've had because I swear on my life. I've been playing really bad at the moment and when they announced it, he's been playing online. He's qualified for the UK Open, he's hitting 90 averages for fun. I was thinking oh god man. I feel good now and I feel like I've turned a page."
