Tata to Widmayer as Kiwi eases into Quarter-Finals, Kirsty Hutchinson whitewashes Wendy Harper as Lisa Ashton potentially awaits

The Last 16 concludes on Thursday at the 2023 WDF Lakeside World Championship and Jonny Tata and Kirsty Hutchinson are the latest players to find their way through.

Tata continues to impress with the Aussie ace producing some good displays on his World Series appearances this year and quietly sits under the radar compared to Leonard Gates, Andy Baetens and Neil Duff among others for potential winners this week.

He saw off Jim Widmayer 3-0 with four 180's along the way. Tata took the opening set 3-1 to begin the tie and despite Widmayer produced the showstopping checkouts, Tata found the more consistent form to go 2-0 up at the break before rounding it off in straight sets. The dream run continues.

While Kirsty Hutchinson who made the final last year at Lakeside losing to Beau Greaves has been working with Glen Durrant and showed some of the form in her win over Wendy Harper.

Harper is dominant in New Zealand and was seventh in the ranking going into Lakeside to get herself a seeded spot which perhaps was a role that should've been reversed. She struggled on her Lakeside debut as Hutchinson took full advantage.

Only getting one dart at a double in the whole contest, Hutchinson took all six legs and moves through to face either Lisa Ashton or Priscilla Steenbergen in the Quarter-Finals who play tonight. Throughout the contest, Hutchinson was a dart ahead and it showed as she moved into the latter stages.
