Andy Hamilton to debut at World Seniors Darts Championship in 2024

Andy Hamilton has accepted the invitation to compete in the 2024 World Seniors Darts Championship. It will be his debut at this senior tournament for darter from Stoke-on-Trent.

A decades ago, Hamilton was among the absolute top darts players on the planet. He reached the final of the World Darts Championship in 2012, and went on to be in the final of the UK Open and Grand Slam of Darts. In 2012 and 2013, "The Hammer" competed in the prestigious Premier League Darts. Hamilton managed three PDC ranking titles in his career.

Robert Thornton will try again to defend his title at the World Seniors Darts Championship. 'The Thorn' won the first two editions of this tournament. He will now face a stiff challenge from Leonard Gates, who has won the last three televised tournaments on the World Seniors Darts Tour. Should Gates take the world title, the American will hold all four television tournaments at the same time.

The likes of Phil Taylor and Martin Adams will also attempt to win the World Seniors Darts Championship. Taylor has won 16 world titles in his career, while Adams managed to win Lakeside three times, but on the senior circuit both men are still dry.

The field of participants in the World Seniors Darts Championship consists of a total of 32 players. They will compete for the senior world title from Feb. 15 to 18, 2024. The full lineup will be announced later.
