Bennett after securing BDO World Championship qualification: 'I never dreamed it would happen so quickly'

Leighton Bennett has claimed qualification for the BDO World Championship at the age of only 13 as the line-up was confirmed this past weekend.

Bennett gave his reaction to debuting at the O2 Indigo and said that he was over the moon but then realised that Christmas is now cancelled.

He added that he never dreamed it would happen so quickly and that it's exciting to be part of a new era in the BDO.

"To be honest, I was over the moon to qualify and then realised that Christmas is now cancelled, but I don't really care. The biggest present I could have ever got is reaching the World Championships, I never dreamed it would happen so quickly.

"The hard work really starts now, but when I get to late December it will be flat-out practice and preparation for the tournament.

"It's so exciting to be part of a new era at the BDO, it's the first time at the Indigo at The O2 so that will be very cool."
