Scholten was asked to be part of the set-up on a trial basis at the start of the year and despite not a lot being resolved due to Coronavirus, he revealed that they wanted to continue with him involved.
"We first drew up a trial contract and I would supervise the selection up to a four-country tournament, but unfortunately nothing has happened because of the virus. Now that contract expired, we sat down again because they would like to continue with me. That already surprised me ", Scholten laughs.
If Scholten remains a permanent coach, he has to go back to the textbooks. "I think it will be one thing. You have to get a trainer license and that is not so easy, I have heard. But I am a bit lucky that I have been professional for a number of years, that all helps, "he says. "We will see."
