Van der Vaart bows out in second round on BDO debut at Denmark Open

Rafael van der Vaart took part in his first BDO event this morning in the form of the Denmark Open and bowed out in Round Two.

Van der Vaart lives in Esbjerg due to finishing his career playing in the town. It was a career that saw him play for both Tottenham and Real Madrid.
He defeated Thomas Andersen 4-2 in the first round on the streaming boards but then lost out 4-0 to Mogens Christensen.
It won’t get any easier for the former attacking midfielder tomorrow as he takes on Per Laursen in the Denmark Masters.
His brother Fernando is also involved this weekend in the BDO event.
