Richard Veenstra took the title in the second iteration of the Remote Darts League on Monday evening. He defeated Paul Hogan 10-5 in the final.
After twenty days of competition, the play-offs in the Remote Darts League were played on Monday. The top four in the competition after the initial League phase qualified for the finals.
In addition to Hogan and Veenstra,
John O'Shea and defending champion
James Richardson were also in the semi-final.
Richardson had remained unbeaten in the league phase, but lost to Hogan in the semi-final. Veenstra defeated O'Shea 8-1 to make it to the final.
The Dutchman then faced Hogan in the final. With a break in the second leg, he quickly took an early lead. It remained close but a second break followed in the fourteenth leg with a 70 checkout which proved a catalyst; as Flyers then threw a 15-darter to take the title.
