Anderson after coming through thriller with Van Barneveld: “It felt good when I won that one”

Gary Anderson kept himself in contention for a maiden World Matchplay crown with a win over Raymond van Barneveld in a night full of Winter Gardens classics.
Anderson spoke afterwards and admitted it felt good to win against Barney. He also said he is using a new set of darts and they felt good; but against Cullen in the next round he’ll have to keep his good form up.
"It's not often I give it a big celebration but it felt good when I won that one," said Anderson.
"When I was 5-1 behind I wasn't nervous at all, I was kicking myself that I was behind and I knew I could get back into it.
"I was playing with a new set of darts tonight and they felt good. Joe will be a tough game in the next round and I'll have to be ready to start well."

- I agree. With the number of tournaments these days?, Phil could probably earn £2 million a year if still playing. I can't believe Chisnall has earned over half a million for being so inept, he barely gets past the first round, stealing a living. That's outrageous.richieburnettrocks26-11-2024
- As prize money increases each year and there are now more tournaments then logically breaking the £2 million barrier is going to happen, only thing preventing it is the now deeper strength in depth of the darting field. If you took Taylor’s best two consecutive years and substituted the prize money from now onto the tournaments he won he would have passed the £2 million.Mysstree26-11-2024
