Lopez overcame Manuel Vilerio and Dyson Parody to win a spot in his home European Tour event this weekend in Gibraltar. The Gibraltarian policeman retained his hundred percent qualification record for the Gibraltar Darts Trophy. 'Hotfuzz' didn't try to qualify for the inaugural edition five years ago, but managed to qualify for all remaining five editions. Lopez made his tournament debut in 2014, where he lost to Daryl Gurney in the first round. One year later he defeated compatriot Dylan Duo to book his place in the second round. However, Mervyn King barred the road to the final day in the Victoria Stadium. In 2016 he was beaten by Nick Fullwell (6-2) in the first round, while Dimitri van den Bergh beat him with the same scoreline in 2017.
