36 players meet in Egmond aan Zee over the weekend to battle for the men's, women's and youth titles. Danny Noppert and Jarred Cole aren't back to defend their men's or youth titles. But Aileen de Graaf could yet make it two
Finder Darts Masters titles in a row, and three overall. Most of the
BDO's top talent converges on the Netherlands, hoping to head to the Lakeside with a spring in their step.
The
round-robin style means the Friday evening session will decide the Saturday schedule. First up, Martin Adams and Wayne Warren must decide who faces Chris Landman on Saturday afternoon, and who gets a longer rest before the evening session. Following the two veterans are a pair of youngsters - Levy Frauenfelder and Jurjen van der Velde kick off the youth tournament.
Gary Robson and Scott Waites are surely in the Group of Death in Egmond aan Zee. The pair will be well aware that their next opponent, Glen Durrant, won't be easy to overcome. That makes this opening Group G clash even more important. Fallon Sherrock has enjoyed great major form in 2018. Her aim will be to get off to the perfect start against Astrid Trouwborst.
Wesley Harms and Dean Reynolds meet in the day's fourth match, before Keane Barry goes head-to-head with youth rival Nathan Girvan. Then it's back to the men's event as Jeffrey van Egdom meets Jeffrey Sparidaans, and Daniel Day clashes with Wouter Vaes.
Lisa Ashton readies herself for a duo of World Championships with what will hopefully be an ideal warm-up campaign at the Finder Darts Masters. Sharon Prins, a familiar foe, will keep the Lancashire Rose on her toes. Martijn Kleermaker is Ross Montgomery's first opponent of the weekend.
Group E features an intriguing clash as Michael Unterbuchner takes on Andy Hamilton, in a round-robin that also contains Mark McGeeney. Tony O'Shea rounds off the action, with the Silverback facing Conan Whitehead.
