The opening round of action being completed at the European Darts Trophy gives a better indication in terms of European Championship qualification.
For Steve Beaton and Martin Schindler after their opening round wins they have secured qualification. This means that there is only five spots left with only Jelle Klaasen still in the tournament able to move up of the current provisional qualifiers.
The equation is simple for most of the rest of the players. For Luke Humphries he has to reach the Last 16; as does Vincent Van der Voort and Krzysztof Ratajski.
Ryan Joyce and Richard North have to reach the Quarter-Finals; while Toni Alcinas and John Henderson have to reach the semi-finals. For any other players who are still involved they have to reach the final or win the tournament.

- As prize money increases each year and there are now more tournaments then logically breaking the £2 million barrier is going to happen, only thing preventing it is the now deeper strength in depth of the darting field. If you took Taylor’s best two consecutive years and substituted the prize money from now onto the tournaments he won he would have passed the £2 million.Mysstree26-11-2024
