Wayne Mardle, a former World Championship semi-finalist and a Sky Sports pundit has lauded
Rob Cross and played up his chances of winning the World Championship.
He spoke after his win over Michael Smith 4-3 in round 2 where he came through a close shave to keep his chances of winning the title on debut alive and like alluded to Mardle thinks he can go all the way.
"Playing like that, yes, I believe he can win the world title," Sky Sports' analyst Mardle said. "Playing under pressure, he hits what he needs to hit and to be a world champion that's what you have to do.
"He's playing in his second-match ever on that stage, his second-match ever. That is just outrageous.
"The man's got it. He's got it. He's come here with a big reputation and to enhance it he had to play like that, and he's enhanced it."
