Dave Chisnall claimed his second title of the season as the St Helens thrower defeated Daryl Gurney 8-6 in the Players Championship 7 final.

The multiple major-finalist was the best player of the tournament until the final. Chisnall booked convincing wins over Mark McGeeney and Rob Cross, while averaging 109 and 108. Vincent van der Voort, Stephen Bunting, Ritchie Edhouse and Davy van Baelen were also knocked out by 'Chizzy'.
However, Gurney was the better player in the final. The Northern Irishman broke Chisnall's throw twice, but the 38-year-old broke back both times. At 6-6, 'Superchin' missed eight doubles to regain the lead. Chisnall opened this present and hit tops to take the lead for the first time in the match. The world number eleven was throwing for the match in the 14th leg and claimed the title after hitting double 5.
