The first singles tournaments at the West Fries Open are complete with Martijn Kleermaker and Kirsty Hutchinson taking the victories.
Kleermaker saw off the likes of Aaron Turner, Dave Parletti and Nick Kenny en route.
The likes of Cody Harris, Jamie Caven and Wesley Harms were all involved so in reality it was a somewhat surprising win.
The ladies was also surprising with Hutchinson overcoming some big names to win the title.
Hutchinson overcame Aileen de Graaf followed by an in form Laura Turner.
There is one more tournament to take place in the West Fries Open on Sunday with the same amount of prize money to play for.

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024
