Corey Cadby gains consolation win and Peter Wright survives a scare to reach Last 16

Corey Cadby gained a consolation win against Glen Durrant to round off a quite forgettable tournament for the young Aussie. He defeated the BDO World Champion 5-4 who was prohibited for portions with a cut finger but Cadby still averaged a solid 97 average in his win and hit four 180's but it is Durrant who is through and finishes top of the group due to previous big wins over Wright and Norris.
Peter Wright is through after defeating Alan Norris. 'Snakebite' was pushed to the limit by 'Chuck' in a winner takes all scenario. He won in a deciding leg 5-4 and hit three 180's, a 98 average and a 170 checkout to get through and live to fight another day in Wolverhampton after a thrilling clash.

- Maybe the supposed top players are burnt out from the endless travelling and tournaments, I just don't think they have the dedication or outright desire to win. I think they are more interested in the money and being popular, just keeping their rankings steady. The only thing that mattered to Phil Taylor was winning, not winning a few games to top up the money pot and seeking the fans attention. Maybe there is too many tournaments now and the enthusiasm is gone. This year especially has seen so many different winners and unexpected draws and line ups.richieburnettrocks14-11-2024
