Rob Cross had to survive match darts against Kiwi qualifier John Hurring as the qualifiers showed what they are made of on day one of the Auckland Darts Masters.
Most games went the distance; for Cross he admitted he needed a bit of luck to get over the line.
‘Voltage’ himself lauded praise on the qualifiers saying how impressed he was with them and how they keep improving.
“I’ve been impressed with the standard of the qualifiers in the practice room; darts is getting bigger and bigger and the guys over here keep improving,” said Cross.
“I needed a bit of luck tonight but if I come back tomorrow and play as well as I can then I know I’ve got a good chance of doing well,” concluded the champion of the world.
