James Wade will return to the stage tonight eager to get back into form after a few months out of form for 'The Machine' who fell out of the top 10 for a week or so but the 2x
World Grand Prix champion has had a month off and feels fresh ahead of a test against
Steve West who defeated Phil Taylor 12 months ago in a memorable win.
"Steve will be keen but if I turn up I'll win and if I don't, I'll lose," said Wade. "I've had a month off and I've had a nice holiday - probably the longest time I've had out of darts for about 12 years.
"I definitely needed a break, some time away, and that's what I've done. I feel fresh. Now I've had a break I've got to get back into the game and put the work in.
"It's no secret, my form has dropped a little bit but that's what happens when you're tired and need a break.
"In my opinion, the top eight isn't the hard bit of getting into, it's the top four. As long as my head's there and I want to be there, the top eight's a normal every day at work.
"I should be in the top eight, but it's only because I've been lazy and got to a point that I wanted not to be there. I've had a break now and it's time to get back to work.
"I've got so many fond memories of the tournament, I've had some great games over the years there and there have been so many great memories."
