Darren Webster won with 6-4 from Luke Woodhouse in the first round of the International Darts Open in Riesa. With an average of 95.04 and a checkout of 31.58%, he just beat Woodhouse who had an average of 88.6 and a checkout percentage of 40.
Steve Lennon had a good match and beat Simon Stevenson with 6-2 with an average of almost 100 (99.36) and a checkout of 50%. Not bad at all.
Christian Kist was too strong for Justin Pipe but needed a deciding leg to win with 6-5. Kist was constantly chasing and won 3 legs in a row to beat Pipe.
Andy Hamilton sometimes has a good day at the office but that was not this day. He got whitewashed with 6-0 by Brendan Dolan.

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024
