Jamie Lewis became the first preliminary round player to reach the second round of the 2018
PDC World Darts Championship as he swept aside Jonny Clayton.
Clayton, a finalist under a month ago at the Players Championship Finals, struggled to match his performances in Minehead as he could not keep up with Lewis in the opening two sets. 'The Rasta' played a consistent game and led 2-0 in the second interval.
Lewis, who had defeated Kenny Neyens of Belgium earlier in the afternoon, took out 130 on the bull to go within one leg of the match, which he sealed in 11 darts.
For Clayton it was a disappointing finish to what had been a great year for 'The Ferret'. Lewis now goes on to face either Peter Wright or Diogo Portela, provided Wright will turn up to play at the Alexandra Palace.
