The Austrian won all five of his Champions League matches on debut in Cardiff. A gripping 11-9 win over Gary Anderson handed Suljovic a first televised
PDC title. The 2018 German Darts Masters champion wants to taste even more stage glory in Brighton. Even defeat in the World Matchplay final to Anderson provided a boost.
"Winning the Champions League last year gave me confidence, winning a TV title always gives you belief you can achieve more." he said.
"After the World Matchplay it didn’t take long to get over losing the final.
"I gained confidence from my performance in Blackpool and now I want to continue playing like this and win more trophies."
Suljovic is a monumentally popular figure on the Pro Tour. 'The Gentle' is more than darts' nice guy, however - as world number six, he is up there with the best. He is more aware of that fact than ever. That, and the support he gets everywhere he goes, is a major motivator.
"At the moment, I’m in the mix to be classed as one of the best players in the world, but I’m always looking for improvement with every tournament.
"The feeling I get when the fans sing my name is amazing. It helps a lot too and I’m really grateful for the reaction I get, not just on stage but also meeting the fans when I’m out and about."
