Peter Wright to face unseeded Ron Meulenkamp in semi-finals in Riesa

Peter Wright is through to yet another Euro Tour semi-final and is on the verge of potentially becoming only one of a few names such as John Part, MVG and Phil Taylor to win 10 titles in a season. 'Snakebite' defeated Jelle Klaasen 6-4 averaging just shy of 95 with the World Number 3 capitalising on missed darts to get over the line.
He will play Ron Meulenkamp who ended Dennis Nilsson's dream debut weekend on the Euro Tour. The Dutchman averaged 99 and gives Wright something to think about in the 1st Semi-Final later this evening. If he can get to the final and win it will also help him in the World Championship race as well as with the European Championship meaning there could yet be more to celebrate for Ron The Bomb.

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024
