Rob Cross has completed a straight sets victory over
Seigo Asada in the first round of the World Championship but this did not tell the full story of the match.
Asada like in the preliminary match played brilliantly and had it not been for some brilliance towards the end from Cross, Asada would have got a set as he was 2-0 up in the final set that Cross won 3-2 with a D8 finish from 'Voltage'.
Also in that set, Cross went 7 darts into the 9 and had the second 104 average of the night after Dimitri van den Bergh's earlier. Also he hit six 180's and 50% on the doubles. Asada himself averaged 92.91 and will take a good 2 games away and a good pay day of £11,000 from his first round exit.
