Steve West once again took out a big name in the World Grand Prix in the form of the 2x champion in the event 'The Machine' James Wade who continued his downward spiral in a poor year so far for the Aldershot ace.
Wade took the first leg comfortably with a 70 finish in the opening leg. West came back and squared it up with Wadey's favourite double 10 to make it 1-1.
West despite taking 9 darts to start off still took the third leg to make it 2-1 to 'Simply'. He then secured the first set winning 3-1 with a 101 checkout to heap the pressure on 'The Machine' in the second set.
Wade came back with a 13 darter to get an early footing in the second set. West levelled things up in the second leg with a 114 checkout.
He went to within one away with another ton plus checkout in the form of 101 to move within a leg of the finishing line. He did get over the line to record a straight sets victory over James Wade the 2x World Grand Prix champion.
