Van Barneveld after securing European Tour qualification for Saarbrucken: ‘Still not as consistent as I want but slowly getting better‘

Raymond van Barneveld hasn’t had the best time of it on the over as of late but increased any chance of reaching further majors on Friday.
This was through him qualifying for the fourth European Tour event of the season and his second qualification so far.
He gave his thoughts on Twitter afterwards saying that he is still not as consistent as he wants but is getting there.
’Happy to qualify for Saarbrucken. Still not as consistent as I want but slowly getting better.
’Played really well against Jelle. Now off to bed Pro Tours this weekend.’
He will hope to take this form into the events in Wigan with his Pro Tour form one of the main problems he’s had this year so far.

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024
