Van Barneveld looks forward after easy first round win at World Championship: 'Kyle is an amazing player'

Raymond van Barneveld made a perfect start at the PDC World Darts Championship 2018. For a sixth successive year, the 5-time World Champion did not drop a set in the first round.
The 50-year-old Dutchman averaged 102, hit three 180s and 17 140+ scores en route to a 3-0 victory over Richard North. Kyle Anderson waits in the second round on Saturday night.
"There are so many tournaments but this one is special to me, so maybe I keep all my energy for these two weeks," said Van Barneveld. "This means the world to me.
"I'm flying back to Holland tomorrow morning then I'll be focusing on Kyle Anderson for Saturday. He's an amazing player.
"He's so tough, he's a 180 man, good at doubles, good at high finishes so I'm really looking forward to that match."

- It happens. Remember, anyone who has watched German and Dutch players in matches - their respective countries will have seen/heard just as bad jeering (if not worse). - Was watching an old World Masters final the other day between Eric Bristow and John Lowe, the crowd respect for both players on throw was first class, not a sound. You can imagine now the idiots who were whistling on De Deckers throw proudly boasting about it on social media. I even turned to my husband and said "Could you imagine this happening if Russ Bray was the referee tonight? At least there would have been a crowd admonishment- Ladies and Gentleman please."
