''The result is the only positive thing. All the other things were not good. Maybe I underestimated playing in front of my own crowd'', Van der Voort told Dartsnews after his match against Boulton. With 90 average and six out of seventeen on the doubles, Van der Voort didn't play his best game at all. However Boulton missed even more doubles (20 percent on the doubles). The Dutchman managed to win five legs on the spin after becoming 2-1 down for the victory. ''I felt I was a bit nervous and dealing with the crowd too much. I can hear here very well what they say, while I have less trouble with that when I'm playing in England. Especially when you are not playing well, it's difficult to keep the concentration.'' Yet Van der Voort also felt strengthened by the Dutch fans. ''The crowd motivated me. They wanted me to win so badly, I would like to do it for them too then.'' The former UK Open finalist can use the support again , when he plays Mensur Suljovic in the second round. ''I know I can beat Suljovic, but he's a top ten player of course. You need to play better against those players then I did in the first round.'' ''I'm smart enough to know what I have to do against him. The mindset and preparation needs to be a bit different and I need to play better. It will be difficult for Mensur as well, he needs to focus more. If it goes on like this, I will need the crowd, but I just need to play good as well.''
